From Wikipedia: A mindset is an established set of attitudes of a person or group concerning culture, values, philosophy, frame of mind, outlook, and disposition. It may also arise from a person’s worldview or beliefs about the meaning of life.
What we all call a “mental game” is important, if not the deciding factor of, how far a person goes in the sport of swimming, or anything else in life.
This sport is hard enough with all the yards and hours and early mornings. It is sometimes difficult to focus on what’s important, what sacrifices to make and what can be gained from them. So having a bigger picture and an overall worldview helps tremendously.
